The Yamanaka Clan

The Yamanaka clan is a clan infamous for specializing in mind related techniques that can result in their victim's entire bodies falling under their control. The members of this clan specialize in mind-centered techniques which makes them experts at intelligence gathering and espionage. They are also known to have displayed keen sensory abilities and their techniques include transferring consciousness, reading minds and communicating telepathically. Overall, members of this clan are strong allies and excellent for support.

The Yamanaka clan has a special relationship with the Akimichi and Nara clan, and is yet another secret clan with ties to Konohagakure, though after the war, no longer exclusively so. Regardless, for generations members of these three families have formed a trio named after the first part of the names of the members. To strengthen the unity between the three clans, a member of the Sarutobi clan will give them special earrings to present to each generation head when they are promoted to Chūnin after which they will swear their oaths. The earrings also symbolize that they are considered adults by their respective clans.

With their excellent mental-based techniques, the Yamanaka clan has become exceptionally sensitive to chakra emissions given off people every individual. Through these, they have learned to develop a cousin-technique of the Kagura Shingan. While not as powerful, this technique functions in the same manner of its kin; it allows the user to recognize and acknowledge the signatures of those around them, even if they’re invisible to the naked eye.

Note: The maximum distance the user may track a target’s chakra signature is twenty-five [25] meters from their body.

Shitenshin no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu utilized by the Yamanaka clan. After performing the necessary hand seals, the user will project their spirit into the body of their opponent. This can be used on both animals and humans. Unfortunately, the spirit travels in a straight line at slow speed, meaning if it is avoided, their body will be left lifeless for several minutes (1 turn). During this, the target still remains in their mind, but their mental processes are forced to the side.

Note: While it is theoretically possible to "mentally overpower" the intruder, there is no adequate measurement for such a quality. As a result, if caught in the jutsu, you're caught. The ability duration is 2 rounds. That is, to the end of the caster's turn two turns later. However, this technique can be broken with a sudden burst of chakra (Eight Gates & Tailed Beasts).

Shinranshin no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu utilized by the Yamanaka clan. After performing the necessary hand seals, the user sends chakra into the nervous system of their victim, confusing their body to cause them to attack their ally. While they are aware of their actions, they cannot stop them from happening. The final seal must be held for this technique to remain active.

Note: The ability duration is 2 rounds. That is, to the end of the caster's turn two turns later. However, this technique can be broken with a sudden burst of chakra (Eight Gates & Tailed Beasts).

Shinten Bunshin no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu utilized by the Yamanaka clan. After using Shintenshin no Jutsu and performing the extra hand seal necessary for this technique, the user will split their mental energy, allowing them to capture more than one target (a maximum of two). Unlike its predecessor, their spirit does not have to travel in a straight line, but it can only turn at a 90° angle. All damage done to the victim is transferred to the user, but can be avoided by releasing the technique before it happens.

Note: Can only effect those within five meters of distance, and the bodies are only controlled for two turns before they are relinquished from control. This technique can be broken with a sudden burst of chakra (Eight Gates & Tailed Beasts).

A supplementary technique developed by the Yamanaka clan to be used in tandem with sensing-based ninjutsu. After performing the necessary hand seals and then making physical contact with a person, the user is able to transmit all of the information they're sensing directly to their intended companion. This effectively allows the recipient of the information pseudo-sensing, so long as the user maintains the technique.

Note: This technique requires Kagura (Sensing), or some other method of sensing chakra in order to be facilitated.

After performing the necessary hand seals and holding the last seal, the user is able to telepathically communicate with people within their range. This ability can be transferred through others by maintaining contact with their forehead.

Shinyomi no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu utilized by the Yamanaka clan. After performing the necessary hand seals, the user is able to telepathically read the mind of their opponent. This can only be used for IC actions (meaning OOC information cannot be read).

Reika no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu utilized by the Yamanaka clan. After performing the necessary hand seals, the user will materialize their spirit, leaving their body lifeless to take possession of a target. Once this is done, they are able to manipulate their opponent. Because their entire spirit is transferred, they can freely control where they move. Their spirit is capable of achieving flight (at x2 speed of a normal shinobi) and restoring chakra (up to 1 High worth of chakra). Individuals capable of absorbing chakra can nullify this technique, killing the user. The only other method of defeating it is through use of Shishienjin. Aside from that, the user is impervious to most physical strikes due to their incorporeal form.

Shintenkugutsu Juin no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu utilized by the Yamanaka clan. After performing the necessary hand seals, the user will transfer their mind into an inanimate object. Their body is left defenseless, but they are able to move themselves around as what they took control of (by means of levitation). If their enemy hits them while they are in this form, their spirits will be immediately switched, placing the spirit of the victim in the inanimate object and the spirit of the user inside the body of the victim. Because it is a curse seal, the victim is unable to manipulate their new body. All damage done to the victim is transferred to the user, but can be avoided by releasing the technique before it happens.
